| GYPSY PRIDE !! |
We
don’t have no judges, but we do have our own laws!
We don’t have an army, but we fight for our cause!
We don’t own no land, but the world is our home!
We don’t swear a oath, but we would die for our own!
We work all the day, so we sleep well at night,
we value a penny, and so hold on to it tight!
But non call us greedy, or hard for a deal!
Slap
hands and barter, its sold on the field
Our children learn well, but don’t go to school,
always the wise man, and never the fool,
the
girls keep their honor, the boys have respect,
look
up to the old ones, and never forget!
We pull on our camp sites, or travel around,
proud
of our trailers, the best on the ground,
proud of our
horses, our dogs and our birds,
proud of our family,
and our Romany words.
Some
rocker, gypo or pikey or scum!
Some pen, cushty the
Gipsies have come!
God bless the gorgers that besh by
our side,
God help the gorgers, that throw stones and
hide!
So God love the
gypsy, with his bit of pride,
Look out for his people,
wherever they bide,
I know you are busy, but try if
you can?
Look over this poet, a proud gypsy man!
